Description
About Lundberg Organic White Jasmine Rice With a light, floral scent, and buttery flavor, California White Jasmine Rice is practically irresistible. This long grain clings together when cooked but isn't sticky, so you can serve it in Thai curries, pilafs, and desserts that call for distinct kernels and fluffy textures. Key Benefits & Features A gluten-free alternative for those with dietary restrictions. Verified non-GMO. USDA-certified organic. Resealable bag allows you to make what you want and store the rest for later. Lundberg FAQ's What is the difference between brown and white rice? All rice is brown (or another color such as Red, Black, or Purple) at first- it is the milling process that determines whether rice is brown or white. When it comes to white rice, the husk, germ and bran are removed in the milling process. In contrast, only the husk is removed when producing brown rice- the whole grain, including the bran and germ, is left intact. Rice that is to be milled for white rice is harvested earlier than rice that is to remain brown. An earlier harvest ensures that the rice has a higher moisture content which reduces breakage during milling. At Lundberg Family Farms, we grow a majority of our rice for brown rice production. Because of this, we allow our rice to mature in the fields for a longer period of time to increase its flavor and improve its appearance. Brown rice is whole grain and contains significant amounts of B vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. Do I need to rinse your rice? We do recommend lightly rinsing the rice for 1-2 minutes. We chose to include this step on our new packaging because we found that it is a better eating experience because it removes some of the starch and can make the rice fluffier in the end. How do you recommend storing your rice? You can leave the rice at room temperature, in a pantry or cabinet, and it will last until the Best Before Date (or around that time). Refrigerating will help extend that shelf life by 4-6 weeks and freezing will help extend it up to 3 months. Ingredients Organic White Jasmine Rice.
